Originally from the middle-west of Brazil, Denise moved to Rio de Janeiro, in order to study at the most recognized federal university for Brazilian Popular Music. This was the time when she discovered the world of Samba and fell in love with it. In 2013, after her studies at UNIRIO and ORU (Örebro/Sweden), she concluded her Bachelor with great honors. Denise applied at HfMT (Hochschule für Musik und Tanz) in Cologne/Germany and was picked out of several hundreds of applicants for the Master's program in Jazz Singing, which she concluded with top grades in 2015.
With 20 years of live performances and her activity as member of the jury at Rio's traditional carnival parade, Denise Krammer became a name in the musical scene of Rio. In Cologne, she fulfilled her dream of founding a traditional Roda de Samba. As vocal leader and through her fan base travelling in from all over Germany, Denise got known as the Voice of Samba.
Denise Krammer performs solo (voice & guitar), in different Duo and Trio combinations and with her Band. Her musical style ranges from the original Samba Carioca (with classics from Zeca Pagodinho, Beth Carvalho, Dona Ivone Lara) to Bossa Nova (the well-known sound of Tom Jobim, João Gilberto, Baden Powell) and MPB (Brazilian Popular Music), with influences of Elis Regina, Chico Buarque, Caetano Veloso, Lenine, Roberta Sá. Her repertoire includes still Forró (the Brazilian north-eastern music) and a touch of Jazz and Blues. Denise is also known for her composition activity and her smart lyrics. Denise has played live at the German national TV station WDR, performed as main gig at the Koblenz International Guitar Festival, played for the Philharmonie Köln and at the Frankfurter Buchmesser, at numerous festivals and is being booked for company events and private parties.
In September 2019 Denise released her third Album with 10 of her own compositions, recorded by outstanding musicians of Rio’s Samba scene and produced by André Muato. The Album is called "Coisa Linda" (Beautiful Thing), with Samba songs in all variations. This work is nominated to the 37.
